Cactuses can be moved any time but in winter

Q: I have a golden barrel cactus that has grown to 3 feet wide in a place where I cannot leave it . It’s a beautiful specimen, but I have to remove it. Any ideas on how to move it? The thorns are lethal.

Room size, shape dictates dining table size, shape

DEAR GAIL: We’re in the process of redecorating and looking to work through our house one room at a time. We want to start with our dining room as we like to entertain. Malfunctioning garage door opener senses a problem

Q: I have a problem with my garage door opener. When I push the button, it goes up with no problem. However, when I push the button for the door to go down, it comes down about a foot, and then goes back up. If I hold the button down though, the door will close. I hope this won’t be an expensive repair.
