Kirner defends bargaining bill, says it’s not ‘union Armageddon’

Assemblyman Randy Kirner told two hearing rooms filled with public union members on Wednesday that his bill to make several changes to the state’s collective bargaining law to benefit local governments and taxpayers does not constitute “union Armageddon” as has been characterized by some labor officials.

Bill would allow pooled sports wagers in Nevada

Private entity groups would be allowed to place pooled wagers at Nevada sports books under a bill making a comeback in the Nevada Senate. Recently introduced Senate Bill 443 would allow a business entity to register with state gambling regulators and place big bets on football, basketball, boxing and other sports.
