The officers enter the backyard to begin a welfare check on the resident, but locate the dog “unsecured” and barking at officers. Officers back up and round a previous corner for shielding from the pit bull, but the pit bull approaches them and is acting aggressive.
The officer wearing the body camera can be heard telling other officers to back up. He fires two shots and heads forward toward the backyard again.
