UNLV had a season-high 21 hits to beat New Mexico 14-2 on Sunday and sweep the three-game series at Wilson Stadium. The Rebels had 55 hits for the series.

UNLV hit four home runs to beat New Mexico 14-6 and clinch the series victory. The Rebels, who hadn’t homered three times in a game all season until this series, hit seven home runs in two games against the Lobos.

No question Birch’s decision hurts UNLV

Khem Birch decided to leave UNLV and declare for the NBA Draft. There’s a question if he’ll get drafted, but no question it’s a big loss for the Rebels.

Junior Carl Jonson fired a 5-under-par 66 and fellow junior Nicholas Maruri came in at even par 71 in his first round of the season to help UNLV to an opening-round 4-under 280 in the Mountain West men’s golf championships Friday at Tucson, Ariz.
