Fishing Report, May 16

Low water has left vegetation exposed, which is making things difficult for those throwing cast nets. Several members of the Nevada Striper Club caught double-digit fish during their weekend tournament. One fish weighed in at 14.9 pounds. The Overton Arm is giving up catfish to anglers soaking shrimp; largemouth bass are hitting whole night crawlers. Bluegill are taking baits in the back of coves above Echo Bay. Fishing has been slow going at Hemenway and along the beaches.
