Boulder City gun club offers media early look at new products

In case you missed it, the annual Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show is underway at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. Owned by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the SHOT Show draws manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, conservation organizations and members of the outdoor media from around the world.

■ LAKE MEAD — Anglers have had great success netting the threadfin and gizzard shad throughout the Vegas Wash area. Unfortunately, the abundance of shad also might explain the lack of bite some anglers have been reporting. Don’t get discouraged; persistence will pay off. Anglers are reeling in striped bass and catfish from the 33 Hole area. Live shad are taking the fish. If trolling, try working the bait down deep where some of the larger fish might be holding.
