The banner honors the 58 victims of the Oct. 1 Strip shooting. Knights majority owner and chairman Bill Foley and general manager George McPhee also were on the ice, along with the family of shooting victim Neysa Tonks.

Lights FC midfielder Carlos Alvarez is on pace for a career year. The attacker already has two assists in two games this season. His play is likely going to draw the attention of higher-level clubs. I’m pretty sure that Carlos doesn’t want to end the season with us. Why? Because I’m sure one high level team will take him during this season. A head-on collision Friday morning sent four people to the hospital with injuries police say were not life threatening. The crash occurred when the driver of a Honda Accord attempted to turn left onto Flamingo from Swenson Street. Police were not sure if either driver was impaired.

Malala Returns to Pakistan for First Time Since Attack Six years after Malala Yousafzai was brutally attacked by the Taliban the Nobel Peace Prize winner has returned to Pakistan. The 20-year-old arrived on Thursday morning, accompanied by heavy security. Yousafzai was an advocate for girls education, writing under a pseudonym. When she was 14, she was shot in the head by the Taliban. She was rushed by an air ambulance to Britain for treatment.
