Education funding a hot topic as Nevada Legislature set to begin

Nevada should be spending $9,238 per student, according to a 2018 study commissioned by the Legislature. That’s more than the $6,052 per-pupil amount for 2020 proposed in Gov. Steve Sisolak’s budget and the current average of $5,897 per pupil.

CEO of Las Vegas’ Goettl Air Conditioning grew up in business

At the age of 10, Ken Goodrich, CEO and owner of Goettl Air Conditioning, was helping his dad as he repaired air conditioners, shining a light on the machines. Goodrich grew up selling, installing and maintaining air conditioners in Las Vegas. He bought the family air conditioning company — Racee Air Conditioning — at the age of 25, after his dad passed away.

TSA officer leaps to death, ignites panic at Orlando airport

An officer from the Transportation Security Administration jumped to his death from a balcony inside Florida’s busiest airport Saturday, creating panic that brought some security checkpoints to a halt for hours, grounded flights and caused serious delays.
