Findlay, Cox present annual iChoose toDrive initiative

Cox Communications and Findlay Automotive Group are collaborating to drive home the message of behind-the-wheel safety through the fourth annual iChoose to Drive campaign.

The Cox safe driving initiative seeks to engage local student teens, aged 13 to 18, in a competition to create a 30-second educational video related to distracted driving. This includes activities such as texting, eating, engaging with passengers and adjusting the radio.

The winning entry will be aired on select Cox cable television channels as an educational public service announcement. The team leader for the winning video will receive a $1,000 cash prize with his or her associated high school also receiving a $1,000 cash prize.

Complete program rules, information about the dangers of distracted driving and previous winning videos are available at iChooseToDrive.com. Entry deadline is Saturday at 11:59 p.m.

Behind-the-wheel safety is important for everyone, especially new and young drivers. Since messaging from peers can resonate positively, the winning iChoose to Drive video can be an effective tool in the larger effort toward educating teenage and young drivers about safe driving.
