Lexus of Henderson collecting food, pet items for animal shelter

Lexus of Henderson is now a designated drop-off site for pet food and related items that will be donated to the Henderson Animal Shelter. Customers can bring in any two items to the service department and receive $20 off a vehicle service at the dealership.

Items the animal shelter is badly in need of include blankets, bedding and towels; food bowls; dry dog and cat food; leashes and training harnesses; and pet carriers. Money donations will not be accepted.

“We are truly blessed to be a part of this community,” said assistant service director Craig Kelly. “This is just a small way for us to give back and donate to a good cause.

The Henderson Animal Control Bureau, through the Henderson Animal Shelter, helps reunite lost pets with their owners, cares for animals brought to the shelter and handles pet adoptions.

The bureau also provides medical care, including the vaccination and spaying or neutering of all cats and dogs at the shelter, as well as the placement of microchip identification for the pets that find a home. For more information, visit www.cityofhenderson.com/animal-control.

Lexus of Henderson is located at the Valley Automall, 7736 Eastgate Road. For more information, call 702-228-7736 or visit www.lexusofhenderson.com.
