This season’s first Back of the House Brawl, Urban Seed Inc.’s underground, late-night food truck and chef competition, pitted Shaun King and Ricardo Heredia at Sparrow + Wolf on Sept. 16. BOH Brawl 2 saw Emily Rubaker, Sean Farney and Chris Palmeri duke it out at Urban Seed Inc. on Oct. 14.
Next Saturday, Nov. 11, Nicole Brisson and John Courtney battle in the early hours of the morning — starting at 1 a.m., to be exact, but the party begins at 10 p.m. — at Sand Dollar Lounge (3355 Spring Mountain Road). This the final BOH Brawl of the year, and the next one is scheduled for St. Patrick’s Day.
“Having Urban Seed bring Back of the House Brawl back to the community is important. These late nights highlight the strength of the culinary community in Las Vegas,” said Jared Krulewitz, Urban Seed Inc.’s co-founder and VP of Marketing. “Back of the House Brawl gives these talented chefs a platform outside of their restaurant to showcase their skills and creativity.”
Jolene Mannina, Urban Seed Inc.’s VP of Culinary Partnerships, said, “Back of the House Brawl is built on food, competition and conversation by the amazing people in Las Vegas. I’m happy this event showcases the undeniable unity in the culinary community.”
The remaining BOH Brawls this season: Justin Hall vs. Josh Clark on March 17 at Herbs and Rye (3713 W. Sahara Ave.); Richard Hoffman vs. Sean Collins vs. Rick Giffen on April 14 at Sand Dollar Lounge; and James Trees vs. Chris Decker vs. Vincent Rotolo on May 5 at Sparrow & Wolf (4480 Spring Mountain Road).
