Casino consultant Randall Fine takes over New Mexico casinos

Casino industry consultant The Fine Point Group has taken over operations of the Buffalo Thunder and Cities of Gold casinos in Santa Fe, N.M., as part of a corporate restructuring move by the properties’ tribal government.

The Las Vegas-based company is headed by gaming executive Randall Fine.

George Rivera, Governor of the Pueblo of Pojoaque Indian tribe, said the Fine Point Group would help improve the operations’ financial results.

"As part of the comprehensive restructuring of our bond obligations, the largest such restructuring in tribal history, we launched a nationwide search for leaders that could take our facilities to new heights," Rivera said in a statement.

Fine will become the casinos’ chief executive officer while two other Fine Point officials will serve as chief operating officer and chief marketing officer. The company plans to bring more than a dozen other Fine Point employees to New Mexico to provide consulting services related to casino operations and relationship marketing.

The casinos, located 15 minutes north of Santa Fe, have more than 500 hotel rooms, 1,600 slot machines, a 27-hole golf course, restaurants, a spa, a bowling center and is the only off-track simulcasting facility in New Mexico.

Fine Point has worked with casinos in 20 states and eight countries.
