Sports book operator Lucky’s opened its second downtown location Thursday afternoon when the company took over the betting facility at Fitzgeralds Casino.
The location mark Lucky’s 15th facility in Nevada. The company also operates the race and sports book at the Plaza.
To celebrate the occasion, Lucky’s will bring in downtown’s mascot, Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, who will make a wager on the weekend’s football games and participate in the ribbon cutting. Goodman will be accompanied by his showgirls and is expected to partake in the celebratory martini bar.
Brandywine Bookmaking, which is headed by Joe Asher, operates Lucky’s.
Lucky’s and Fitzgeralds built out a full-service sports book on second floor adjacent to the property’s Vue Bar.
In addition to the Plaza, Lucky’s operates race and sports books at the Terrible’s Casino, the three Primm casinos, and casinos in Pahrump, Laughlin, Reno, Sparks, Carson City and Elko.
