Ex-Mirage Resorts exec named to new job

Former Mirage Resorts executive Barry Shier has become chief operating officer of New York-based FX Real Estate and Entertainment.

FX owns 17.72 acres on the southeast corner of Harmon Avenue and the Strip that may developed into an Elvis Presley-themed mixed-use development.

Shier, 52, spent 15 years with Mirage Resorts. He retired when the company was sold to MGM in May 2000.

FX shares began trading publicly on Thursday. Its shares fell 50 cents, or 6.25 percent to close at $7.50 on the Nasdaq National Market.

FX is a spinoff of New York-based entertainment management company CKX.

Toyoda-Roberts Realty named Bill Glaze sales associate.

Lund & Manasse Advertising & Public Relations named Tana Shivers media coordinator and Meghan Harrison account coordinator.

Penta Building Group named Schkeena Hamilton corporate services assistant.
