Las Vegas Goodyear stores reopen under new dealer

Goodyear is back in town, Las Vegas.

Superior Tire & Service, a factory authorized Goodyear tire and automotive service dealer, opened two stores Thursday and plans to have six open in Southern Nevada by next week, with up to 11 locations by the end of May.

“We are excited to open for business in Las Vegas and once again have the Goodyear name in the marketplace,” said Shane Ely, Superior Tire & Service district manager, said in a statement.

Nevada’s previous Goodyear dealership closed in December following the death of its owner, Bruce Scher. Superior Tire & Service bought the Scher business’s assets and expects to rehire most of its 81 employees. It will handle all Goodyear nationwide warranty service and honor service contracts from the previous ownership.

The six locations slated to be open by April 6 are at 2120 E. Warm Springs Road, 3590 E. Tropicana Ave., 4445 E. Charleston Blvd., 7005 W. Sahara Ave., 5567 S. Rainbow Blvd. and 9555 W. Tropicana Ave.
