State treasurer to speak at Nevada Women’s Money Conference

Interested in money? Well, there’s a conference for that.

Nevada State Treasurer Kate Marshall is set to host the second annual Nevada Women’s Money Conference in Las Vegas from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 27 at Texas Station, 2101 Texas Star Lane. The one-day event. co-presented by the International Association of Working Mothers, aims to help women learn how to take better control of their money and family finances.

Cost is $75 per person, which includes admission to speaker and discussion sessions and the resource expo, plus continental breakfast, a luncheon, the Women’s Money Guidebook and a yearlong mentoring program. A limited number of scholarships are available.

“The Nevada Women’s Money Conferences provide a full-day educational and networking event, which will provide women with the financial knowledge, tools and contacts to build a secure financial future,” Marshall said in a statement. “As chairman of the Nevada College Savings Board and as someone who believes wholeheartedly in financial fitness, I am grateful for the opportunity to share with women across our state information that can change their lives and their families’ financial security.”

Conference attendees can learn how to reduce financial stress, feel confident with money matters, fix credit, pay off debt, maximize income, save for college and retirement, develop a financial support network and build a more secure financial future. Speakers include Gail Perry-Mason, a radio and television personality focused on finances; Gerri Detweiler, director of consumer education for credit.com; and Gina Robison-Billups, president of the Women’s Money Council.
