Nevada’s largest insurance navigator firm is upping efforts to sign up Nevadans for health coverage through the state exchange.
Ramirez Group is partnering with the Nevada Health Link exchange and Nevada JobConnect to hold weekend enrollment fairs for locals looking to comply with the new federal insurance mandate under the Affordable Care Act.
From now through March 31, Ramirez Group will have navigators on hand Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. inside Nevada JobConnect offices in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson. Certified enrollment assisters will be there to answer questions, walk people through sign-up and troubleshoot problems.
Nevada JobConnect’s offices are at 3405 S. Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas; 2827 Las Vegas Blvd. North in North Las Vegas; and 119 Water St. in Henderson.
Consumers have until March 31 to buy a plan and avoid penalties under the new law. The 2014 penalty is $95 or 1 percent of your income, whichever is greater.
You’re exempt from the individual mandate if you’re a Native American, an undocumented immigrant, a religious objector, a prison inmate or a low-income earner who’s ineligible to pay taxes.
