Friends and the lawyer for Sounilak Ouchaleun, a casino worker accused of killing her live-in boyfriend by backing her vehicle over him, said Tuesday they believe the death was a tragic accident during a drunken argument.
But Deputy Clark County District Attorney Rob Stephens said Conrado Martinez Mendoza, 44, was murdered, and argued against bail , saying Ouchaleun's immigration status as a registered alien made her a flight risk .
Ouchaleun, 33, listened to a Laotian and Thai language interpreter while Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Eric Goodman set bail at $100,000 and scheduled an evidence hearing Dec. 14.
