Coroner IDs men killed in murder-suicide incident

Two men who died in a possible murder-suicide last week were identified Monday.

William Joseph Pearce Jr., 25, of Las Vegas died from gunshots to the head and torso, according to the Clark County coroner's office. His death was ruled a homicide.

The apparent gunman, Anthony Rafael Garcia, 22, of Las Vegas, died from a gunshot wound to the head. His death was ruled a suicide.

Las Vegas police SWAT officers were called to a home in the 2000 block of Sunland Avenue, near Alta and Tonopah drives, after reports of gunshots about 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police said SWAT officers entered the house and found two men dead. The woman's estranged husband, Garcia, shot and killed Pearce. He then shot himself in what police called a murder-suicide.

The woman and her three children under 5 years old were at the home during the confrontation. They escaped unharmed.

Police said Garcia kicked the door in before the shooting.
