A teenager was hospitalized Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle that jumped the curb then left the scene, Las Vegas police said.

The teen, who was on a sidewalk, was hit about 2:45 p.m. near Tropicana Avenue and Jones Boulevard, police said. Police found the vehicle in the 5700 block of Rochelle Drive.

Police said one person was in custody, but it was unclear at the time if the person was the driver.
