Fake doctor sentenced, ordered to return to Mexico

RENO - A Nevada man who pleaded guilty to performing cosmetic surgery without a medical license was sentenced to up to four years in prison, but the judge suspended that time so he can be deported to Mexico immediately.

Edgar Orozco-Abundis of Sparks earlier admitted he was in the country illegally.

Washoe District Judge David Hardy sentenced him Tuesday and told him never to come back to the United States, according to a report by KOLO-TV in Reno.

Orozco-Abundis was accused of targeting illegal immigrants who were looking for nose jobs, stomach staplings and other cosmetic surgery. Police say three victims were not seriously injured by the medical work.

Orozco-Abundis told police he was a licensed medical doctor in Mexico, but prosecutors said that was not true.
