Fourth Palms employee pleads not guilty to wire fraud conspiracy

Charles Pecchio pleaded not guilty Friday to a charge that he and three others defrauded the Palms of more than $800,000, federal court records show.

Pecchio along with former employees of the Palms race and sports book Michael Albanese, Matthew Kidle and Kassie Baker are accused of using their positions to accept “invalid” wagers on horse races, authorities said.

A federal grand jury earlier this year indicted the group in the scheme, which occurred between July 2006 and July 2007. Albanese, Kidle and Baker have also pleaded not guilty.

All four defendants are facing a single felony charge of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

Pecchio remains free on $100,00 bond, records show.
