Las Vegas police say armed robber on the loose

The person Las Vegas police said is linked to a Wednesday morning robbery is now on the loose and considered armed and dangerous, police said.

After thinking the robber was holed up at residential motel in the 3200 block of West Tropicana Avenue, police got inside a unit to find he wasn’t there.

Police were led to believe that a robber fled to the Budget Suites on West Tropicana near Interstate 15. They evacuated the complex as a precaution.

SWAT team and ambulances were there, but no injuries were reported.

Metro received a call reporting an armed robbery around 5:30 a.m. in the 3200 block of West Tropicana. They received another call saying someone who looked like the robber went to the Budget Suites.

A nearby Chevron food mart was robbed, a store worker said.
