A man who was arrested for killing a police officer in Northern Nevada in 2001 was found dead in his prison cell on Friday.
The Nevada Department of Corrections said Larry Peck was found unresponsive in his cell at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center. No foul play is suspected.
Peck was convicted of first-degree murder in April 2003 after shooting Reno officer John Bohach in 2001, according to the Reno Legal Examiner.
In 2001, Peck fled the scene of a routine traffic stop, barricaded himself inside a house and shot Bohach in the chest with a high-powered rifle during a police standoff, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Bohach died within minutes, according to reports.
Peck was serving a life sentence for first-degree murder, use of a deadly weapon and resisting a public officer with a weapon.
