Man shot, wounded at Las Vegas apartment complex

Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured in the central valley on Wednesday night.

Police were called at 9:45 p.m. with reports of an injured man lying in the grass at an apartment complex in the 4400 block of Sirius Avenue, near Decatur Boulevard and Desert Inn Road, according to police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer.

Several people were at the residence at the time of the incident, and violent-crimes detectives are investigating.

The man was taken to University Medical Center. His condition was unknown Thursday morning, but was not believed to be life-threatening, Meltzer said.

Police had not identified any suspects.
