SWAT dispatched to east valley apartment complex

Las Vegas police and SWAT team officers are responding to a situation in an east valley apartment complex.

Metro supervisor Lt. John Liberty said officers responded because a man, who locked himself inside, may be suicidal.

Multiple residents were evacuated from the Amber Ridge apartment complex, near the intersection of Stewart Avenue and Nellis Boulevard. Another complex across the street was also evacuated, Liberty said.

The man may have family members inside with him, but Liberty said police are still working to confirm that. SWAT negotiators are on the scene trying to talk to the man.
