A California property title officer pleaded not guilty Wednesday to more than 600 charges alleging she directed a “robo-signing” scheme involving tens of thousands of fraudulent foreclosure documents.
A Clark County District Court judge set bail at $50,000 for 62-year-old Geraldine Ann Sheppard.
Nevada state attorney general investigators took Sheppard to the Clark County jail for processing.
Her lawyer, Ken Julian, said he expected she would be able to post bail and remain free pending trial Sept. 17.
A co-defendant, 49-year-old Gary Randall Trafford, is due to appear in court Friday.
Sheppard and Trafford are accused of directing employees to produce fraudulently notarized notices of default for filing with the Clark County Recorder’s Office from 2005 to 2008.
