Las Vegas homicide detectives investigating after woman found dead, apartment ransacked

A woman was found dead in her northeast valley apartment Monday morning, and Las Vegas police are investigating her death as a homicide.

The woman was believed to be in her late 20s, and her body was found just before 9:50 a.m. near North Lamb Boulevard and Stewart Avenue, police said.

Though it’s unclear how the woman was killed, police said her family hadn’t heard from her recently and her apartment appeared to have been forced open and ransacked.

The county coroner will name the woman killed once family has been notified.
