Police investigating homicide in east Las Vegas

Updated January 19, 2025 - 4:17 pm

Las Vegas police arrested a man suspected of shooting and killing his girlfriend and driving off with her body in a car.

The Metropolitan Police Department got a call Sunday morning from someone who said their friend had called them to tell them he had just shot his girlfriend.

Based on information about the car and area, police found the suspect’s car and tried to stop it, homicide Lt. Robert Price said during a Sunday press briefing.

The suspect drove away and crashed into another car at the intersection of Pecos Road and Charleston Boulevard.

The suspect, who Price said was a man in his 20s, was taken into custody. The woman, also in her 20s, was found dead in the car.
