18-year-old arrested in shooting death of teen walking home from party

The Metropolitan Police Department arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the death of a teenager who was shot and killed while walking home from a party Sunday night in the northeast Las Vegas Valley.

Police received multiple reports around 8:23 p.m. of a person shot in the 4700 block of Corsaire Avenue, according to police. Arriving officers found the teenager suffering from gunshot wounds. He died the scene, police said.

Police said investigators learned the teen had been followed from the party by a group of males. After a couple of blocks, police said, Damian Delgado, 18, pulled out a gun and shot the teen before Delgado and the rest of the group ran away.

Patrol officers found Delgado and took him into custody. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder, according to police.

The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
