Updated February 9, 2025 - 3:04 pm

Police said a woman was shot and killed by her boyfriend during an argument Sunday morning in the southwest Las Vegas Valley.

The Metropolitan Police Department said it had received a report of a woman who was shot inside a residence in the 9300 block of Aspen Shadow Street, near Cimarron and Blue Diamond roads, around 4:13 a.m.

Patrol officers made contact with a man, later identified as 50-year-old Paul Moore, who told police he had shot his girlfriend.

Police found the woman inside the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives learned that Moore and the woman had been in an argument before he shot her. Moore was arrested and was booked into the Clark County detention center on suspicion of open murder, police said.

Moore is expected to make an initial appearance in court on Monday, according to court records.

The woman’s identity will be released at a later date by the Clark County coroner’s office.
