Teen suspect charged as adult in stabbing, booked into Clark County jail

A teenager connected to an April homicide has been certified as an adult and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

Jason Lloyd Carlton was arrested on Wednesday and transferred to the adult jail Sunday, according to detention center booking logs. He is being held on murder, robbery and conspiracy charges.

Booking logs indicate that Carlton is 17, but a news release from Metro states that he is 16.

Las Vegas police said Carlton is connected to the April 17 stabbing death of Clinton Englehart, 27.

Englehart died at University Medical Center of a stab wound to the chest after an altercation near the McDonald’s at 8635 W. Spring Mountain Road, near Durango Drive.

Police said after the incident that two people were detained at nearby Desert Breeze Park. It wasn’t immediately clear whether Carlton was one of them.
