Updated March 17, 2025 - 5:34 pm

The FBI joined forces with Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to arrest a MS-13 gang member in Las Vegas, according to a social media post Friday.

In a post on X, the FBI’s Las Vegas field office said the “watch-listed” gang member arrived in Las Vegas on a flight from New York on Friday.

“This arrest emphasizes the vital importance of teamwork in safeguarding our community,” the FBI said.

On Monday, an ICE official identified the gang member as Douglas Amadero Alfaro-Valladares, 41. He is “an illegal alien” from El Salvador who was arrested at Harry Reid International Airport on Friday, ICE said.

Alfaro was previously removed from the U.S. on four occasions and will remain in ICE custody pending removal from the U.S., ICE said.

MS-13 is a transnational gang that originated in Los Angeles and gained a grip on much of Central America.

ICE has increased its capacity in Southern Nevada for people in the federal agency’s custody, the Review-Journal previously reported.
