Reno police cite 16 people for illegal street racing event
Reno police have issued 16 citations in connection to an illegal street racing gathering.
Police received a report of motorcyclists racing in south Reno on Sunday. When officers arrived at the scene they tried to stop two motorcyclists leaving the area, but they fled.
Officers did contact a group of motorcyclists and other individuals who had set up chairs, music and cones in the roadway. They had been watching the motorcyclists who were racing. The 16 spectators were issued citations.
Police say reckless driving such as racing endangers both the driver and the public and is forbidden.
