Henderson police arrest 4 in shooting, shoplifting

Henderson police arrested four people suspected in a shooting at an Olive Garden restaurant and in a shoplifting incident at a grocery store Thursday night.

At around 7 p.m., police responded to reports of a man firing a gun into the air outside of Olive Garden at 4400 E. Sunset Road, public information officer Michelle French said.

As officers headed to the scene, dispatchers received a call that four men ran from the Olive Garden to a nearby Smith’s supermarket at 4600 E. Sunset Road, where they were shoplifting, French said.

When officers arrived on scene they deployed K-9 units and found three of the four shoplifters who were also involved in the shooting coming out of a Barley’s Casino & Brewing Co. at 4500 E. Sunset Road, French said. Police found the fourth person involved in the shooting inside of the Barleys’ restaurant, she added.

All four men are in custody and there were no reported injuries.

Police are trying to determine who the shooter was and the motive behind the shooting. The investigation continues and no one has been charged, French said.
