A suspect is facing charges after a shooting in the south central valley that started a barricade situation, police said.

Just after 9:20 a.m. Monday, police received a call that a shooting had taken place in an apartment located in the 900 block of East Twain Avenue, near Cambridge Street, earlier in the morning, about 7 a.m., police said.

Police said a man could be seen inside the apartment and refused to exit. He was believed to be armed.

The barricade concluded after 2 p.m., police said. No injuries were reported and the man faces charges of firing a weapon in an occupied structure.
