Shots fired, gun wrested away from man during road rage fit

A person inside a four-door car fired shots at another vehicle Sunday night after an apparent road rage incident on northbound U.S. Highway 95 near Valley View Boulevard, Las Vegas police said.

Both cars exited the highway at Rainbow Boulevard, stopped, and occupants of both vehicles got out of their cars. The male driver whose car had been shot at and who was armed with a gun tried to detain a shooting suspect, police reported.

After a brief struggle, a suspect disarmed the man, who was armed with a gun. During the struggle, the man’s gun discharged into the ground.

The suspect and two others believed in the car were last seen driving south on Rainbow, police said.

No injuries were reported.

The incident is under investigation, and further details were not immediately available.
