Teenage boy shot Monday night in North Las Vegas

A teenage boy was shot Monday night in North Las Vegas and is expected to live.

North Las Vegas police responded to a shooting in the 2400 block of Ellis Street near Carey Avenue just before 9 p.m., police spokeswoman Ann Cavaricci said.

Police found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound. He was taken to University Medical Center with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, Cavaricci said.

No one has been taken into custody, and a suspect description is not available, police said.
