Art galleries to visit in Las Vegas

Michael Summers show

“The Brand New and Improved, Old-fashioned, Classic, Art Show,” featuring new original paintings and limited-edition prints by California artist Michael Summers, will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday and 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday. The event will include meet-and-greets with Summers, and champagne will be served. A portion of proceeds from the show will benefit the Animal Foundation. Shirley Jeane exhibit

“The World Through My Eyes,” an exhibit of paintings, prints and cards, by Boulder City Art Guild member Shirley Jeane. Artist reception will be from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Boulder City Art Guild Gallery at Boulder Dam Hotel, 1305 Arizona St., Boulder City.


The art celebration will feature live glassblowing, a children’s art auction, live music, silent auction and more, from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday. The event will benefit Project Imagine Las Vegas’ arts in medicine program for seriously ill children. Tickets are $40 and include dinner and one beverage. Domsky Glass, 2758 S. ‘Desert Notes’

Antonio Gomez exhibit

The photography exhibition “Charro: Portrait of a Way of Life,” features work by Las Vegas artist and College of Southern Nevada faculty member Antonio Gomez. Heritage Gallery exhibit

“Over Here: Clark County and World War One” showcases Clark County’s wartime memorabilia. Windows on First

Camilla Quinn’s exhibit “Appropriation” explores the history and evolution of the mandala, a Buddhist and Hindu geometric figure representing the universe. Windows on First at Las Vegas City Hall, 495 S. Main St., located along First Street.

‘Nude Survey 6’

‘Hello From Japan!’

This touring exhibit celebrates modern and traditional life in Japan. Visitors will experience a kawaii (which translates to cute or adorable) streetscape, inspired by Tokyo’s Harajuku district, and enjoy the serenity of a natural Shinto shrine park. “Red” is the color theme for the vinyl banners on display as part of the city of Las Vegas Aerial Gallery.
