Trade athletic shoes for teen shows

Kids for a Better Society will present young performing artists from various social, economic and racial backgrounds in shows at 6:30 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday in the theater at the West Las Vegas Library, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

Admission is one new pair of children’s athletic shoes. Sizes ranging from preschoolers to high school students are needed.

Donated shoes will be distributed by Shoes for Children co-founder "Sweet" Lou Collins to youngsters attending neighboring schools as well as given to valley charities to share.

The teenagers participating in the show will present a variety of music, dance and acting performances focusing on issues young people face.
