SINEAD O’CONNOR GETS HER WISH: PINK CADDY WEDDING IN VEGAS
Irish singer-songwriter Sinead O’Connor and Barry Herridge got married in a pink Cadillac on her 45th birthday Thursday at the same chapel where Britney Spears had her surprise wedding.
It was the fourth marriage for the “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer who shocked the world when she tore apart a photo of Pope John Paul II during her appearance on “Saturday Night Live.”
Frank Sinatra threatened to “kick her ass” over the incident in which she said was intended to protest sexual abuse in the Roman Catholic Church.
According to reports, O’Connor had posted a number of racy blog items earlier this year, saying she was in “desperate need of a very sweet sex-starved man.”
Among her requirements, her future husband “must be blind enough to think I’m gorgeous, has to be employed and he has to like his mother.”
Herridge, 38, reportedly responded in late August.
Spears got married at the chapel on Jan, 3, 2004 to childhood pal Jason Alexander. The marriage was annulled 55 hours later.
