A tragic racing accident with a heartbreaking love story topped the 2011 list of most popular Vegas Confidential columns.
The night before IndyCar star Dan Wheldon died at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Vegas Confidential learned he and his wife, and mother of two, Susie, got his and hers tattoos at a Palms tattoo shop. That column ranked No. 4 among the Review-Journal’s most read, with more 100,000 page views.

The other top four most-viewed Vegas Confidential columns:
2. Prince Harry’s party-filled visit to Las Vegas. He made the trip on a motorcycle he rented in Phoenix.

3. Floyd Mayweather’s rumored $1 million bet against Tim Tebow in the Denver Broncos games against New England.
4. UFC color commentator Joe Rogan’s vile comments about a female reporter who criticized UFC star “Rampage” Jackson for his alleged sexual harassment of another female reporter.
5. A process server tracked down Sue Lowden during a Las Vegas deposition after the former Republican front-runner for the 2010 U.S. Senate nomination was sued for not paying her campaign debts.
A Vegas Confidential video of a dying horse in Colorado being consoled by his pasture mate captured the attention of animal lovers. It received more than 100,000 views.
