Eight years ago, Donny & Marie went on a test drive at Flamingo Las Vegas. They’ve logged a lot of miles since.
Caesars Entertainment made the announcement via a news release this morning. The dates cover Feb. 14 through Nov. 25, when Donny & Marie traditionally hit the road for the holidays.
Both siblings had hinted at the opening of “Jason Bourne” at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in July they wanted to continue their stay in Las Vegas, so the announcement is devoid of suspense. Marie has long lived in Green Valley, and earlier this year Donny, too, moved to a home in Summerlin. They have performed nearly 1,200 shows, according to today’s statement, and have been alternating dates with fellow superstar Olivia Newton-John since April 2014.
Donny & Marie perform nightly at 7:30 p.m. (dark Mondays and Tuesdays); tickets range fro $95-$262 (fees not included). Hit the Flamingo Las Vegas website for info.
Also, on Saturday, Donny Osmond appears at Town Square as the host of the Danny Gans Memorial Champions Run for Life. The 5K run/walk is to benefit the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, a project of Gans, the late star impressionist on the Strip who died in May 2009. Osmond and Gans were close friends and since Gans’ death, Osmond has fulfilled the promise every year to host the NCCF event.
On-day registration is $40 and begins at 6:30 a.m. The run/walk starts at 7:30, and for registration info, go to the NCCF race site.
