Tonight in Las Vegas: Journalists, attorneys face off at The Mob Museum

TONIGHT IN LAS VEGAS

The Tropicana celebrates the 60th anniversary of its opening with a monthlong series of special pricing and concerts in its showroom. It was the 12th resort to open on the Strip — 300 rooms built for $15 million.

In “The Courtroom Conversation” at The Mob Museum, it’s all about “The Media and The Mob” with journalists and attorneys talking of their tangles with Tony “The Ant” Spilotro and Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal. Once upon a time — in the 1970s — the biggest news stories in the land were about The Mob and Las Vegas.

Champagne wishes for a “Happy Birthday” to former “Rock of Ages” star Mark Shunock, who now runs The Space community charity theater and appears in the new “Magic Mike Live” at The Hard Rock Hotel.

DJ Crooked straightens out all the music at Hyde Bellagio.

And DJ Julian Jordan controls the 1’s and 2’s at Omnia at Caesars.

TOMORROW’S TEASES

The more than 3,000-room Bellagio hotel is situated on the site of the former Dunes Hotel. The Dunes was imploded in 1993, and construction of the Bellagio started in 1996. It cost $1.6 billion to build, making it the most expensive hotel in the world at the time. The Bellagio was former Wynn Resorts Ltd.
