Food, music event celebrates traditions of Spain

The culinary traditions of Spain will be celebrated during the World Vibration Concert Series/World Cuisine event at noon March 8 at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. The cooking demonstration begins at noon, with flamenco music following at 2 p.m. The fee for the demonstration is $14; a combination ticket for both is $25. The Royal Tea Society has planned "Let Them Eat Cake," a tea from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 8 at Lakeside at Desert Shores, 2620 Regatta Drive. The atmosphere is to resemble dining on the River Seine; the menu will include Salade Nicoise on baguettes, ham and brie with pears and croissants, cakes and pastries from local bakeries and, of course, plenty of tea. Tinoco’s Kitchen has opened at the Vegas Club, 18 Fremont St. From Chef Enrique Tinoco, who also owns and operates Tinoco’s Bistro in the downtown arts district, Tinoco’s Kitchen serves from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily from a menu including such dishes as pan-fried sea bass with lobster curry, grilled filet with garlic mashed potatoes and cognac cream sauce, plus sandwiches, salads and more. Marssa at Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort will celebrate its second anniversary from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Envy the Steakhouse at the Renaissance Las Vegas, 3400 Paradise Road, now serves a Sunday brunch featuring entertainment by pianist Wes Winters.
