Dining Pick of the Week: Vic’s New American Cuisine

Vic’s New American Cuisine

The Anthem Center, Sun City Anthem, 2450 Hampton Road, 702-522-7200

Diners at Vic’s New American Cuisine may be hoping for a glimpse of the tattooed finalist from season 7 of “Food Network Star.” But the real star of Vic “Vegas” Moea’s Henderson restaurant is the view. All seats, including the highback booths, are focused on the expansive wall of windows. Tucked inside the Sun City Anthem Center, the restaurant features daytime views of the golf course grounds, but the best time to visit is in the evening, or better yet at sunset, when diners are treated to the glow of lights from the Strip. Lunch menu prices range from $6 for a house salad or $8 for the Sin City Grilled Cheese to $14 for the salmon burger. Dinner selections range from $17 for pasta items such as the Capa-Pomo, a pasta dish with fresh tomatoes, basil and garlic oil tossed with angel hair pasta and topped in Romano, to $29 for the jumbo pan-seared scallops, served with a citrus risotto and micro greens finished with lemon vinaigrette and pistachio oil. Sun City Anthem residents get a discount on dining, and the menu has been reworked since opening to appeal to locals and inspire frequent visits. Vic’s New American Cuisine is open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and for dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and Sundays and from 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Happy hour specials are offered from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. For more information, visit vicslv.com.
