Muscle Maker Grill

5765 Centennial Center Blvd., No. 180, 702-778-8819

Summer is just around the corner, and now is the time to start counting those calories. For more than 20 years, Muscle Maker Grill has helped health-conscious diners by creating a menu fit for vegetarians, people following a carb-free diet or those looking for gluten-free options. The franchise, started in 1995 by Rod Silva, offers a nutritious alternative to fast-food restaurants. Its menu includes appetizers, salads, wraps, soups, smoothies and protein shakes. The Texas-style chicken nuggets ($4.99) have a spicy kick and are served with fat-free sour cream and celery. The barbecue steak wrap ($10.29) comes with reduced-fat cheddar cheese and fat-free hickory barbecue sauce in a white wrap. Wraps are served with a side, including choices of baked potato, brown rice, cucumber salad, broccoli, Western potatoes, vegetable medley, Caesar salad or pasta salad. Upgrades are available for 50 cents to $1, which includes part-skim mozzarella, sweet potato and turkey meatballs. The chicken teriyaki stir-fry ($10.29) is flavorful and served with grilled chicken breast, portabello mushrooms, onions, peppers, carrots and sesame seeds with teriyaki sauce over brown rice. Besides having a variety of Coca-Cola beverages to chose from, there are also protein shakes ($5 to $6.50), including Tropical Paradise, Snappy Apple, chocolate peanut butter, strawberry banana, chocolate banana, strawberry, chocolate and vanilla. Extra bananas or peanut butter can be added for 50 cents. Looking for something fruitier? Smoothies are made without added sugar and include four berry, strawberry, peach pear apricot, pina colada, acai blueberry pomegranate, wild cherry cranberry, Mango Tropics and Forbidden Fruit. Protein can be added for $2. Catering, delivery and takeout are available. Muscle Maker Grill is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. For more information, visit musclemakergrill.com.
