Las Vegas for Less: Record Store Day, free music, car show

Record Store Day

Celebrate Record Store Day in, what else, a record store, with a live set from melodically savvy Vegas pop rockers Avalon Landing at 5 p.m. Saturday at Zia Record Exchange, 4225 S. Eastern Ave. The show is free; call 735-4942.

Girl in a Coma

You’d have to be in a coma to miss Girl in a Coma, an equally poppy and punchy female power trio from San Antonio. Hey, Joan Jett likes ’em – she signed them to her label, Blackheart Records – and so should you. See the band at 9 p.m. Monday at the Royal House, 99 Convention Center Drive. The show is free; call 800-634-6118.

Dirty Panties

Soiled undergarments are pretty gross. The Dirty Panties, however, are pretty rockin’. Wash your BVDs and see the band at 10 p.m. Saturday at the Double Down Saloon, 4640 Paradise Road. The show is free; call 791-5775.

Arielle Verinis

Arielle Verinis’ voice is as rich as Donald Trump dipped in chocolate – but with better hair, naturally. See her at 10 p.m. and midnight Tuesday through Thursday at Book & Stage at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, 3708 Las Vegas Blvd. South. No cover; call 698-7000.

Car show

Spray paint some flames on mom’s station wagon and join in on the fun at a bitchin’ car show at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cheyenne Saloon, 3101 N. Rancho Drive. Free; call 645-4139.
