Ariana Grande’s voice sweeter than doughnuts

Lock up your doughnuts, Ariana Grande is coming back to town.

The weighty scandal surrounding a certain pastry-licking episode aside, it's been nothing but an upward trajectory for the 22-year-old singer since last year's Billboard Music Awards, when she teamed up with Iggy Izalea at the MGM Grand Garden for their duet "Problem."

Azalea's postponed tour suggests she may already be teetering on the edge of one-hit wonder-dom. And Jessie J had to handle Grande's part of "Bang Bang" at May's Rock in Rio festival. Good to have friends, and really big pop hits.

But recent stops on Grande's "Honeymoon" tour leading up to Mandalay Bay on Saturday indicate "Baby Mariah" is shooting for a wider, older audience and perhaps playing the long game by covering Madonna's "Vogue" and Whitney Houston's "I'm Every Woman."

If moms or dads happen to be in the audience instead of waiting out in the casino ... can't hurt, right?
