Filter performing poolside at Hard Rock

Remember Filter?

First they were all like, “Grrrrrrr!”

Then they were all, “Lalalalalala.”

From the angst-on-a-stick of “Hey Man, Nice Shot” to the saccharine sentimentalism of “Take a Picture,” the electronics-abetted hard rockers paired heavy emotions with similarly weighty sonics before hitting rock radio pay dirt with the latter ballad in the late ’90s.

Since then, the band has undergone numerous lineup changes, with the lone constant being founder and frontman Richard Patrick, who’s skilled at turning tension and self-doubt into something invigorating and lasting.
